The territory of Afghanistan will no longer pose a threat to Uzbekistan and other countries in the region.  (Acting) Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan Amir Khan Muttaqi guaranteed this in a meeting with Vladimir Norov, (Acting) Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, the Afghan delegation stated that the initiative of the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to hold an international conference on Afghanistan is timely and necessary and that the upcoming event will provide the world community with detailed information on the situation in Afghanistan.

It was also emphasized that Afghanistan is the country's closest and most reliable partner and will remain so.

In turn, Amir Khan Muttaqi said that the territory of Afghanistan will no longer pose a threat to Uzbekistan and other countries in the region.

The head of the Afghan delegation expressed sincere gratitude to Uzbekistan for the humanitarian assistance provided to Afghanistan through the implementation of multi-functional transport and logistics hub in Termiz, as well as energy and infrastructure projects.

Vladimir Norov urged the Afghan side to take effective measures to quickly fulfill the main demands of the international community, including the establishment of a government based on broad representation, respect for the rights of women and national minorities, and the provision of full school education for girls.
