Yesterday, February 13, marked the beginning of the semi-finals of the esteemed Freestyle Chess G.O.A.T Challenge tournament in Germany. Uzbek grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattorov faced off against Magnus Carlsen, the 16th world champion from Norway.

Ultimately, Abdusattorov, representing Uzbekistan and playing as black, succumbed to his opponent. In the second semi-final, American Levon Aronian emerged victorious over his compatriot Fabiano Caruana.

Today, February 14, the semi-finals will continue with the return matches. The clash between Abdusattorov and Carlsen is scheduled to commence at 17:00 Tashkent time.

It's noteworthy that the 19-year-old Abdusattorov secured his spot in the quarterfinals by defeating the reigning world champion from China, Ding Liren.
