King Abdullah II arrives in Samarkand

King Abdullah II ibn Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan arrived in Samarkand today, August 25, on a state visit at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan, the Presidential press service reported.
At Samarkand International Airport, King Abdullah of Jordan was welcomed by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan. In honor of the high-ranking guest, the national flags of both countries were raised, and an honorary guard was formed.

A ceremonial event featuring national music, songs, and dances was held. The main events of the visit are scheduled for tomorrow. Today, the heads of state will jointly visit the historical monuments of ancient Samarkand.

The summit agenda includes discussions on developing political, trade-economic, and investment cooperation; establishing collaboration in sectors such as chemistry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, textiles, and mining; and expanding cultural and humanitarian exchanges. The current issues in international and regional politics will also be addressed. The talks are expected to conclude with the signing of a package of bilateral agreements.
