Abdulla Aripov meets with his counterpart from Kazakhstan

The 21st meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan took place in Almaty on July 11-12 this year, according to the government portal.

The meeting, chaired by Uzbek Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Kazakh Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov, highlighted the rapid development of strategic partnership and alliance relations between the two nations, which are grounded in friendship, good neighborliness, and mutual respect.

The message emphasized that, in light of the current geopolitical changes and rapid global shifts, it is more crucial than ever to enhance mutual cooperation between the two countries in all areas.

It was proposed to boost mutual trade to $10 billion in the coming years by effectively utilizing existing resources. This requires systematic efforts to replace imports from third countries and move towards a comprehensive free trade regime.

Discussions also covered industrial cooperation, transport, and transit, strengthening interregional relations, and developing cooperation in energy, agriculture, science and education, culture, and other areas.

The meeting concluded with the signing of the report from the 21st session of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

During their visit to Kazakhstan, the Uzbek delegation also reviewed the operations of the public transport management center and other facilities in Almaty.
