Uzbekistan's national team central defender, Abdukodir Khusanov, has officially joined "Manchester City" in a record-breaking transfer. The news was confirmed by football insider Fabrizio Romano on his X (formerly Twitter) account.

According to Romano, the contract between Khusanov and "Manchester City" is structured as a 5+1 deal, signifying a five-year contract with an option to extend for an additional year. "Manchester City" paid €50 million to RC "Lens" for Khusanov, including bonuses.

Khusanov's rise to prominence has been meteoric. Lens acquired him from Belarusian club "Energetik" BGU in 2023 for just €100,000. During his time at Lens, the 20-year-old defender played 24 matches and contributed one assist. "Bunyodkor", the Uzbek club that nurtured Khusanov during his formative years, is set to earn €1 million from the transfer under FIFA solidarity mechanisms.

This move is historic, as Khusanov becomes the most expensive transfer in the history of both RC "Lens" and Asian football. The transfer underscores his growing reputation as one of the brightest talents in the game.

Khusanov’s signing adds to "Manchester City"'s already formidable squad, and his development under the club’s world-class coaching staff will be closely watched by football fans worldwide.
