97073 batches of “Dok-1 Max” medicine brought to Uzbekistan in December, i.e. about 60,000 boxes, are being kept under strict control. The State Customs Committee informed QALAMPIR.UZ about this.
Also, according to the information service of the committee, 2 batches of this medicine, which had been brought earlier, were kept in the warehouse of the State Customs Committee.
“From the first days when negative reactions were observed by the customs authorities, all measures were taken to prevent the drug from being released into free circulation,” says Husan Tangriev, the spokesperson of the State Customs Committee.
We remind you that by the order of the Pharmaceutical Network Development Agency of the Ministry of Health on 22 December 2022, the decision was made to withdraw “Dok-1 Max” drugs from pharmacies.
It was also reported that 7 officials were dismissed from their positions following the death of 18 children in Samarkand due to the consumption of “Dok-1 Max” syrup.
On 28 December, it was reported that another had child died after drinking “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Kashkadarya.
Consequently, the Investigative Department of the State Security Service initiated a criminal case against the officials of the “Kuramax Medical” Limited Liability Company and the “Scientific Center for Standardization of Medicines” Limited Liability Company, and the suspects were placed in the investigative detention center of the State Security Service.
Later, India’s Marion Biotech Pvt. Ltd” company has stopped production of these drugs.
Also, the sale of all types of medicines produced by this company was stopped.
On 2 January 2023, it was reported that a 3-year-old boy in Fergana was being treated for acute drug poisoning after drinking Dok-1 Max syrup. It was reported that 7 patients were poisoned by “Dok-1 Max” syrup in Syrdarya region, four of them have recovered and three are currently in the intensive care unit.
Earlier, “Dok-1 Max” was found to contain 300 times more toxic substances than normal.
