Uzbek citizen wanted for 5 years was captured in Turkey

An Uzbek citizen wanted since 2019 on charges of fraud was arrested in Istanbul, according to the General Consulate of Uzbekistan.
The individual, identified as Otabek Mashrabovich Abdullayev, born in 1977, was captured during a joint operation conducted by the Ministries of Internal Affairs of Turkey and Uzbekistan. He has since been deported to Uzbekistan.
Citizens affected by this individual’s actions are encouraged to contact the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan, or its relevant authorities.
"Criminal prosecution will be consistently pursued, and the principle of accountability for crimes will be strictly enforced against any individual, including those hiding in foreign countries like Turkey, who are avoiding criminal responsibility," the statement read.
It is worth noting that another Uzbek citizen, accused of stealing $60,000, was recently arrested in Istanbul.
