Today, 22 December, the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis held another discussion of the draft law "On the state budget for 2023."

However, the deputies seem to have forgotten that the budget is the biggest document related to the fate of all citizens, and the meeting is more about the country's budget, rather than articles in the law, but it is mainly about President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's appeal to the Oliy Majlis on 20 December.

Also, those gathered on the issue of state budget distribution had time to congratulate one of the deputies on his birthday and the representatives of the Ministry of Energy on the Day of Energy Workers.

In the 1st reading of the State Budget law, no comments were made on the issues that raised various objections.

For example, during the first reading of the law, a disagreement arose between Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan deputy Daniyor Ganiyev and the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Poverty Alleviation Ilhom Norkulov.  In this, Ganiyev objected to the fact that an additional 225 billion soms are being allocated to UzAutoMotors to cover the disposal fees calculated according to the tariffs in the countries where the car was exported.

"When we are cutting costs in other areas, how reasonable is it for us to give 225 billion additional subsidies to make the price of a car bought by a foreign customer of a monopoly directly cheaper?" Ganiyev turned to Finance Minister Timur Ishmetov at that time.

Ilhom Norkulov, the first deputy minister of economic development and poverty alleviation, said that the MP misunderstood the issue and called him a liar.  After a few minutes of disagreement, (Norkulov) ended the argument by promising to provide additional information at the next meeting.

Interestingly, at that time, none of the deputies except Rasul Kusherboyev and Daniyor Ganiyev could object to this state of budget distribution.Today 22 December, neither Daniyor Ganiyev nor Kusherboyev did not appear at the meeting.

Thus, 121 deputies unanimously approved the 348-trillion state budget law for 2023, which lasted for an hour and a half with comments on the President's appeal.
There were no deputies who objected or abstained. 1 deputy did not vote.
