Damage worth 35.6 billion soms was caused - General Prosecutor's Office discloses why Termiz's former governor was imprisoned

Earlier, we reported that the former governor of Termiz was arrested and a criminal case was initiated against him under several articles of the Criminal Code. The General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan gave official information on this case.

It is noted that the General Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the situation with the criminal case initiated by Articles 167, 205, and 209 of the Criminal Code against the former officials of Termiz City Administration.

As of today, it has been determined that 35.6 billion soms of damage have been caused to the interests of the state, society, and entrepreneurs by the former officials of the Termiz city government.

For this reason, on 24 September of the current year, a precautionary measure of "detention" was applied to the former governor of Termiz, later his 2 deputies, and 8 other people involved in the crime.

The investigation of the criminal case continues.  Other details of the case will not be disclosed in order to avoid obstruction of justice.
