The salary of the teachers of the Higher Education Institutions will increase, in 2023

Starting from 1 April 2023, the monthly salaries of 27,000 teachers of professional educational institutions across the Republic will be increased by 20% and will be equal to 3 million soms on average.  139 billion soms will be allocated to these goals this year.  This is provided for in the state program for the implementation of the development strategy of Uzbekistan for the years 2022-2026 in the "Year of attention to people and quality education".

It is noted that the basic tariff rates of pedagogues of professional educational institutions are now equal to the basic tariff rates of pedagogues of general secondary educational institutions.

Also, the basic tariff rates of the masters of industrial education, those who have the first and second qualification category of the professional educational institution, those who do not have a qualification category, and those who do not have higher education, are the general secondary.  It is equal to the basic tariff rates of teachers of the first and second qualification category, teachers with higher education and teachers with secondary special education.

For information, in 2019, a press conference was held at the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Public Education on the topic "Problems related to increasing the influence of teachers in society and their solutions" had passed.  Minister Sherzod Shermatov spoke and said that the monthly salary of teachers will be 1000 dollars.

In addition, in the state program for 2023, to expand the network of non-governmental educational organizations, to simplify licensing and permitting procedures in the field, until 1 August 2023:

In organizing the activities of non-governmental educational organizations, easing the requirements for their electronic library, information-resource centers, categories of teachers, and the maximum number of students in one class;

it is established that non-governmental educational organizations are allowed to organize gymnasiums and student recreation areas in the buildings that belong to them based on the right of rent and free use.

"As a result, the cancellation of excessive and unreasonable restrictions will be achieved and the number of private schools will be significantly increased from the current 334 (3% of the total share).  For example, to establish private schools under licensing requirements:

the maximum number of students in one class should not exceed 20 in grades 1-4, 24 in grades 5-9, and 20 in grades 10-11.  For public schools, this requirement is 30;

There should be an electronic library equipped with at least 30 computers, an information resource center equipped with at least 5 computers, scanners, copiers, its stadium (playground), and recreation areas.

In addition, it was determined that 30% of teachers in educational institutions should be specialists, 30% - second, 30% - be first, and 20% - with higher qualifications.

For information, the draft Presidential Decree on the implementation of the development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in the "Year of human attention and quality education" has been submitted for public discussion.

The public discussion will continue until 17 February, and every citizen can participate in it.

It should be recalled that according to the state program for 2023, we announced that one European-style college and technical school will be opened in each region.
