Two girls drown in Ahangaran reservoir

Two girls drowned in a reservoir in the Ahangaran district of the Tashkent region, according to Hayot Shamsutdinov, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General’s Office, in response to a request from QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to the official, on July 28, P.D. (born in 2006), D.A. (born in 2009), and E.N. (born in 2006) went swimming in the Ahangaran reservoir, located in the “Chinor” rural municipality of the Ahangaran district. While swimming near the shore, P.D. and E.N. drowned.

Search operations were carried out by the Ahangaran district department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. The body of P.D., who drowned on July 28 at 20:00, was recovered the same evening. E.N.’s body was found the following morning, on July 29, at 08:50.

Forensic examinations have been ordered to determine the exact cause of death. A pre-investigation check is currently underway by the district prosecutor's office.

It is worth noting that a similar incident occurred recently in the “Yangi Uzbekistan” park in Tashkent, where a young man drowned at a beach. He died before emergency medical services could arrive.
