About 10,000 Uzbeks receive Russian citizenship

In the first half of 2023, 9,340 Uzbeks received Russian citizenship. This was reported by “Asia-Plus” based on the official statistics of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia on the state of migration.
During this period, more than 205 thousand foreigners received Russian citizenship. This indicator decreased by 38,200 people compared to the same period of 2022.
According to statistics, Tajik citizens are in the lead in obtaining Russian citizenship – 87 thousand, Ukrainian citizens are in second place – 39 thousand, and Armenia is in third place – almost 18 thousand.
The next places are Kazakhstan (13,876) and Kyrgyzstan (10,500). Uzbeks recorded the sixth highest rate of obtaining Russian passports.
