Uzbekistan returns 1 trillion soums in cashback to consumers

In 2024, more than 1 trillion soums of cashback were returned to consumers. This was reported by the State Tax Service.

According to the report, as of February 4 of this year, more than 1 trillion soums of cashback were paid to consumers for 1 billion checks in 2024. Of this, 89.2 billion soums were paid in December.

The largest share of the paid cashback falls on the following regions:

  • Tashkent City: 412.2 billion soums
  • Tashkent Region: 107.1 billion soums
  • Samarkand Region: 93.2 billion soums
  • Fergana Region: 75.6 billion soums
  • Andijan Region: 52 billion soums

For your information, from January 1, 2022, a cashback system has been introduced for consumers from the amount of goods and services purchased from entrepreneurs engaged in retail trade, public catering, and household services. According to it, cashback in the amount of 1 percent of the amount of goods and services purchased is returned to the consumer from the republican budget. The cashback system has not been implemented for the purchase of car, railway, and airline tickets, payments for utilities and communication services, as well as for R2R and credit payments made through mobile applications.
