From 1 May, Uzbekistan will increase pensions and other benefits by 12 percent. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that he had signed a decree at the meeting on measures to further strengthen social protection of the needy population.

It was noted at the meeting that the work on material support for the elderly and the needy will continue.

According to the decree, the pensions of 725,000 people receiving the minimum pension will be increased by 14% (from 440,000 to 500,000 som).
