Kamil Allamjonov resigns from public office

Kamil Allamjonov, who is often searched for online if he does not appear for a month, has always described himself as "guilty." He quit his job two months ago at the Presidential Administration and this time he has officially left his position as an official. Allamjonov will now continue his work in the private sector, a field he is familiar with. Saida Mirziyoyeva, the assistant to the president, the eldest daughter of the head of state, and a state official who began her career as Allamjonov's deputy, expressed her deep gratitude for his selfless service and professionalism while bidding farewell to him.

"During the past two years, you responsibly approached all the assignments given by the President and implemented large projects important for the state and society. You have shown great results in improving the press and education system. We thank you for this. We believe that the work you have started will bear fruit in the future," said the President's assistant.

It is important to know who has come to the Presidential Administration and who has left. Zaynilobiddin Nizomiddinov and Sardar Umurzakov were the most prominent among them, but neither of them received a farewell like this. Even though this imitation was parted, it passed away from the public eye without filming. Now, without further ado, let's return to Allamjonov's speech. While leaving, he expressed his wholehearted loyalty to the goals and ideas of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

"I plan to continue my work in the private sector and attract modern technologies and investments to important sectors of the economy. Through this, I intend to contribute to the prosperity and development of our country. Once again, thank you very much," said Kamil Allamjonov.

No one knows yet what Allamjonov is doing in the private sector. In any case, he is the owner of several businesses. Allamjonov, who started his first business while working at the State Tax Committee, is the founder of the "Saliq Info" newspaper, the "BEM" accounting automation program, and later the "Avtotest" driving school and the "Autodriver Study" driver examination center, among many other projects. Currently, we do not know which businesses he will continue and whether Allamjonov's extensive career will influence his business endeavors.

Now, we will look at how Allamjonov rose from a low to a high position. Allamjonov, who rose suddenly in the last 6-8 years, started his career in the "Davr" informational program of the "Youth" television and radio channel. His notable period coincides with his role as the head of the press service of the State Tax Committee from 2005 to 2013.

This is not the first time Allamjonov has left the Presidential Administration. On December 1, 2017, he replaced Asadjon Khojayev as the press secretary of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Allamjonov worked in this position for almost a year before leaving the Administration, after which he was assigned to manage the Press and Information Agency.

Later, with the document signed by the President, the organization became the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the Presidential Administration. Allamjonov was appointed its director, with Saida Mirziyoyeva, the President’s eldest daughter, as his deputy. That’s when the tandem of Mirziyoyeva and Allamjonov began. Both Allamjonov and Mirziyoyeva ended their work at the agency on the same day in January 2020. Shortly after, the Public Fund for the Support and Development of the National Mass Media was opened, with Allamjonov becoming its director and Mirziyoyeva serving as its deputy.

Four years later, Allamjonov returned to the Presidential Administration in a senior position. In 2022, he became the deputy of Sardar Umurzakov, the head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. At that time, it was said that this deputy position was created specifically for Kamil Allamjonov. He stated that he transferred all his businesses to other owners because he was appointed as the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration. However, the identities of the new owners of the businesses have not been disclosed.

"From today, I will hand over all my business projects and companies to other owners. From today, I am not a businessman because I am completely against conflicts of interest, and I advise others to do the same," said Allamjonov.

It is interesting to note that Allamjonov, who entered entrepreneurship while serving as the Press Secretary of the Tax Committee, came to the Administration and spoke about avoiding conflicts of interest. In any case, "Avtotest" and "Milliy TV" were established while he was working in a state position. After returning to the Presidential Administration in 2022, Allamjonov was promoted to head the Department of Information Policy a year later and worked in that position for another year.

If you remember, rumors about Allamjonov's departure from the Presidential Administration began circulating in July of this year. He held a meeting with heads of state and non-state television and radio channels and other media in July, demonstrating that he was still in office. Although QALAMPIR.UZ and I did not personally attend this meeting, we saw images from it on social networks, just like you did. In Uzbekistan, where there are more than 2,000 media outlets, we are accustomed to such meetings being held in narrow circles.

He left the Administration shortly after that. Allamjonov, who has been blamed for everything, is no longer involved in politics. Now, he is not an official. Some see his departure from the Administration as a downfall, while others view it as an opportunity. What do you think?
