Manchester City suffered a 3-2 defeat at home to Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League play-off.

Erling Haaland opened the scoring for City in the 19th minute. Kylian Mbappe equalized in the 60th minute. After Ceballos fouled Foden in the penalty area, City was awarded a penalty, which Haaland converted in the 80th minute, securing his brace. However, Real Madrid responded swiftly as substitute Brahim Diaz scored the equalizer in the 86th minute, followed by Jude Bellingham's decisive goal in the 90th minute.

Notably, Uzbek player Abdukodir Khusanov was left on the bench for this match.
