Governors are prohibited from interfering in the work of cadastral bodies

From 1 January 2023, it is forbidden for governors to interfere in the work of cadastral bodies. This was stated in the decision of the President of Uzbekistan "On measures to further improve the activities of the Cadastre Agency under the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan."

According to the decision, from 1 January 2023:

• Organization of activities of territorial structures of the Cadastre agency is carried out by the Cadastre Agency;

• financing of the activities of regional administrations and departments is carried out from the republican budget;

• it is strictly forbidden for governors to interfere with or influence the activities of regional departments, regional offices of the Chamber of State Cadastres, and district (city) branches.

Until 1 July 2023, it will be possible to review cases of administrative offenses related to the bodies of the Cadastre agency electronically through the "E-administrative case" system.

The decision established the following:

• In the central office of the Cadastre agency - Department for the Development of the National Infrastructure of Spatial Information;

• The position of the chief expert on border issues in the regional offices of the Cadastre agency;

• In the Tashkent College of Geodesy and Cartography - Center for retraining and improving the qualifications of personnel;

• In the "Geo innovation Center" DUK structure - comparison and calibration laboratory, doctoral studies, department of standardization in the field of spatial data, and department of coordination of scientific research activities.

According to the conclusion of the Ministry of Agriculture, the newly acquired lands are included in the category of agricultural lands based on the decision of regional governors.

The decision also approved the main forecast indicators of the Cadastre agency's activity in 2023-2026 and the program for improving its material and technical base.
According to it, the agency will measure 25,169 hectares of land plots and create electronic maps.
