Hasan Ergashev, a sports specialist from Uzbekistan, has been elected vice-president of the Asian region of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF). This was reported by the QALAMPIR.UZ news outlet.
"Our goal is to elevate mixed martial arts to a new level on the continent and ensure that Uzbek athletes participate in leading leagues at the UFC level," said Hasan Ergashev.
It is worth noting that Ergashev also serves as the vice-president of the MMA Association of Uzbekistan.
In related news, it was previously reported that the World Championship in mixed martial arts has begun in Tashkent. The competition is scheduled to run until November 10.
