One European-style college and technical school will be opened in each region

5693By 1 September 2023, the activities of one of the model professional educational institutions that fully meet the requirements of the European vocational education and training quality assurance system, involving qualified foreign experts, in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and the city of Tashkent, will be launched.
This is provided for in the state program for the implementation of the development strategy of Uzbekistan for the years 2022-2026 in the “Year of attention to people and quality education”.
It is noted that from the 2023/2024 academic year, state grants for the dual education of colleges and technical schools will be provided in order to develop the professional education system and train qualified middle-level personnel in line with the requirements of the labor market and employers.
This year, at least 5,700 students will be accepted on the basis of a state grant for dual education.
“In the form of dual education, a student receives theoretical knowledge at a professional educational institution and at the same time performs work at a production enterprise and strengthens practical skills (experience of Germany, Switzerland, Austria).
As a result, the model professional educational institutions will be established together with the European Union Commission, the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the KFV Bank, the Swiss Embassy in Uzbekistan, and the Korean “YeDSF” Foundation.
In order to introduce modern standards to the activities of these institutions, they are allowed to independently determine the curriculum and programs, the form and duration of education.
It was also decided to attract 4 foreign experts to each institution.
For information, the draft Presidential Decree on the implementation of the development strategy of Uzbekistan for 2022-2026 in the “Year of human attention and quality education” has been submitted for public discussion.
The public discussion will continue until 17 February, and every citizen can participate in it.
It should be recalled that according to the state program of Uzbekistan for 2023, it will be allowed to turn “domes” into schools.
