Heavy rains expected in Uzbekistan: Uzhydromet warns

Heavy rainfall is expected in various regions of Uzbekistan from July 30 to August 1, according to an urgent warning issued by the Center of Hydrometeorological Service (Uzhydromet).
The warning highlights the following areas at risk:
• Tashkent region: Ahangaran, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Ortachirchik, Yukorichirchik districts, and the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
• Namangan region: Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangikurgan districts;
• Fergana region: Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq districts;
• Andijan region: Andijan, Asaka, Jalaquduq, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, Marhamat districts, and the city of Khanabad.
Uzhydromet urges residents living in foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through high-altitude routes to take necessary precautions.
There is a heightened risk of rainwater accumulation in some areas, potentially leading to localized flooding. Authorities advise the public to stay informed and adhere to safety guidelines during this period.
