The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Ukraine addresses Uzbek citizens

The Uzbekistan Embassy in Kyiv has appealed for Uzbek citizens who are staying, or planning to visit the Ukraine to avoid spreading "Unconfirmed, false information and advises everyone to remain calm and not give way to panic." 


"The Embassy is in constant contact with the Government of Ukraine, the diplomatic corps and our compatriots. If you have any questions, please contact the Embassy by e-mail ([email protected]) or by telephone (+38 044 5015000, +38 044 5014182) or telegram addresses of diplomats,” The report says.

The Embassy also informed that «Uzbekistan Airways» has regular flights to Kiev and interested citizens can return to Uzbekistan on the route Kyiv-Tashkent.

For reference, on 13 February, the national airline «Uzbekistan Airways» launched a regular flight Tashkent-Kiev-Tashkent.  According to the airline’s website, the next flights on both routes are scheduled for 16 and 20 February of the current year.

In the wake of the worsening geopolitical situation between Russia and Ukraine, many European and Asian countries are demanding their citizens to leave Ukraine directly. The United States was among the first to call on minor staff members of the United States Embassy in Kiev to leave the country immediately.

According to US President Joe Biden, Russia’s invasion of Ukraine is certain and «the situation in the region will soon deteriorate. » Biden even inferred the exact date of the outbreak of war between the two countries.  In a statement from The White House, it was noted that 16 February would be the day for Russia’s strike on Ukraine.

Following the US, officials of other several countries called on their citizens to leave Ukraine immediately.

The British government recommended citizens not to visit Ukraine because of the threat of an outbreak of war from Russia. 

The ambassador of the Netherlands in Kyiv, Jennies de Mol, advised his compatriots to depart from Ukraine.  He reconfirmed that no centralized evacuation is under plan.  According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs website, 10km of Ukrainian territory, which borders Russia and Belarus is marked by a red line which indicates a high level of danger.  
The citizens of Finland, Latvia, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Japan, and South Korea are also expected to leave the forthcoming war zone.

Japan and South Korea rated the threat level in Ukraine as red. Seoul banned travel to all parts of Ukraine, stating that the level of danger was at level four.

According to media reports, the families of Israeli diplomats have also been evacuated from Kyiv. Norway has also called on its citizens to leave Ukraine. In addition, Oslo advises not to enter Russian territory with 250km of the Ukraine border.
