Starting from June 1, 2025, Uzbekistan will offer a five-year residence permit to foreign nationals and stateless persons through a simplified process in exchange for a payment of $250,000. This initiative is outlined in the Presidential Decree titled “On Measures to Stimulate Production, Export and Entrepreneurship, and Increase the Effectiveness of Trade and Industrial Policy,” adopted on April 18.
The decree specifies that, in addition to the principal applicant’s $250,000 payment, each accompanying family member—including a spouse, child, or parent—will need to contribute $150,000 to be eligible for the same five-year residence status.
Initially, the Ministry of Justice announced that the program would take effect from June 1, 2025, with lower fees: $200,000 for the applicant and $100,000 for each family member. However, following the publication of the official decree on the legal portal, the ministry revised its previous statement issued on April 19 to reflect the updated costs.
This visa initiative—commonly referred to as a “golden visa”—is intended to attract investment and boost entrepreneurship in Uzbekistan, aligning with the country's broader economic development goals.
