Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov becomes Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Albania

1756Uzbekistan has officially appointed its first Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Albania, Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov, who presented his credentials to Albanian President Bayram Begay, according to the "Dunyo" news agency.
Following the formal ceremony, the two diplomats engaged in discussions on enhancing bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Albania, with a particular focus on trade, economic cooperation, culture, and tourism.
President Begay expressed high regard for the significant reforms undertaken in Uzbekistan in recent years under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and praised their positive outcomes. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to elevating their relationship to a new, more dynamic level.
For context, Bakhtiyor Ibrohimov was accredited as Uzbekistan’s ambassador to Austria in November 2023, where he also presented his credentials to Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen. Additionally, in October 2023, Ibrohimov became the official representative of Uzbekistan to various international organizations in Vienna, including the OSCE, the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the OPCW, the IAEA, and other UN bodies.
It is also worth noting that Rahmatulla Nurimbetov has been appointed as the new Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Sweden.
