Uzbekistan discusses with its neighbors the issue of electricity supply in autumn and winter

Representatives from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan recently engaged in discussions regarding mutual electricity supply during the autumn-winter season. This information was reported by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Between August 25 and 26, a meeting took place in Astana, involving representatives from the energy and water management ministries of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. The primary focus of the meeting was to explore collaboration within the water and energy sectors. The discussions encompassed topics related to electricity supply for the upcoming autumn-winter season, along with potential cooperation in other domains. Substantial mutual agreements were successfully reached, outlining specific volume and delivery terms.
Furthermore, the participating parties reached a consensus to explore the feasibility of implementing an hourly electricity accounting mechanism. They also agreed to establish agreements between business entities to regulate unforeseen energy flows, as well as to review the existing requirements within these agreements.
All participants affirmed their commitment to fulfilling previously agreed-upon obligations.
The subsequent meeting of representatives from water and energy agencies is scheduled to convene in Bishkek in November 2023.
