Uzbekistan is always open to investors — Shavkat Mirziyoyev

Speaking at the plenary session of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev said more than $150 billion in foreign investment had been attracted to Uzbekistan in recent years and emphasized that the country is always open to investors ready for equal and mutually beneficial partnership.

Welcoming the forum participants, the Head of State noted that this year’s event would be attended by nearly 4,000 foreign guests from 100 countries around the world.

According to the President, the active participation of the international community in the forum is a clear reflection of growing confidence in the development of New Uzbekistan.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev noted that more than $150 billion in foreign investment had been attracted to the country in recent years, with $123 billion of that amount coming in the last five years.

“We are always open to investors who are interested in cooperating with Uzbekistan and are ready for equal and mutually beneficial partnership,” the Head of State said.

He also expressed gratitude to Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Ali Asadov, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Adylbek Kasymaliev, Tajik Prime Minister Kokhir Rasulzoda, as well as representatives of a number of international financial institutions, banks and major companies participating in the forum.
