Students returned from Ukraine will continue their studies in Uzbekistan

6265Students who have returned from Ukraine will continue their studies in local universities of Uzbekistan. The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, announced this on 4 March, at a video conference on measures to improve the living standards of students in higher education institutions.
“Today, more than 370 students from Uzbekistan study in Ukrainian higher education institutions, of which about 200 have returned home. We are taking all necessary measures to return the rest of them within the next week,” the President said.
It should be noted that most of these students’ study medicine, transportation, aviation, economics, engineering, and Information Technologies. The Commission headed by the Ministry of Higher Education, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and regional governors will be organized to work on these activities.
"The Commission will create all conditions for students who have returned from Ukraine to continue their studies in our universities within a week. In this case, the commission will decide on a simplified transfer of students wishing to continue their studies in Uzbekistan», – the Head of the State said.
For reference, as of 4 March, 2,579 Uzbekistan citizens have been repatriated on 11 flights.
