Moscow CSKA and Uzbekistan national team midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullayev shared his thoughts on the team's tactical changes, his new role, and CSKA’s ambitions for the second half of the season.
"Winter training camps are always difficult because there is a lot of stress, and training is even more intense. We are preparing for the season, and I think everything is going well for us. We have switched to a new scheme, and we are currently training according to it. It will take some time, but I believe everything will be fine in the championship," Fayzullayev stated.
He also spoke about his new position on the field and CSKA’s goals in the league.
"I will try to give my 100% in this position. Now the coach puts me in the number eight role, and I feel comfortable there. We are playing well now, and I think we will finish in the top three by the end of the season," he added.
For reference, the 21-year-old Fayzullayev is under contract with CSKA Moscow until the summer of 2026. This season, he has played 23 matches for the club, scoring three goals and providing six assists. According to Transfermarkt, he is valued at 8 million euros, making him the second most expensive player in Uzbekistan.
