Two individuals who stole $560,000 from an office in the Mirabad district of Tashkent have been detained. This was reported by the Main Department of Internal Affairs of Tashkent city.
According to the report, operational measures led to the identification of the two suspects. They arrived at the office in a Gentra vehicle, jointly lifted the safe, and threw it out of the window. The safe, which contained \$560,000, two flash drives, and documents, was then loaded into the car and taken away in an unknown direction.
One of the suspects was identified and immediately detained. Authorities recovered $440,000 and a Honda motorcycle as part of the investigation. Based on the suspect’s testimony, a search of his apartment revealed that the safe had been cut open with a grinder and the money embezzled. The empty safe was then thrown into a canal near the residence.
Following the robbery, the suspects reportedly planned to flee to Kyrgyzstan via Andijan. However, they were caught during an operation at a hotel in Andijan and brought back to the capital.
It is worth noting that earlier in the city of Fergana, a criminal group was detained for attempting to seize someone’s apartment by threats after purchasing it without paying.
