Citizen dies after being crushed by tree in Tashkent

On May 23, a tree fell in Tashkent due to strong winds, fatally injuring a citizen. The incident was reported by "Millar".

According to the report, two individuals were hospitalized after being struck by the fallen tree. One of the victims, who was in critical condition, died in the hospital’s reception area. The second patient sustained a head injury and underwent a lengthy surgery. He is currently in stable-serious condition and remains under observation in the intensive care unit.

For context, a severe dust storm occurred in Tashkent on May 17. According to Uzhydromet, the concentration of PM2.5 particles in the air reached 44.95 µg/m³, exceeding the permissible limit by 1.28 times. Then, on May 23, another episode of strong, dusty wind hit the capital. As a result, numerous trees were uprooted, damaging private vehicles and public transport alike.

In response, the Tashkent City Emergency Management Department issued a warning, urging residents not to park vehicles under trees or near unstable construction equipment during high winds.

It’s worth noting that a similar incident occurred earlier on April 29, 2025, when a tree fell on a car in the Mirabad district due to strong winds.
