Two passenger buses caught fire in Tashkent on April 6. This was reported by “Toshshahartransxizmat” JSC.
According to the report, the first fire occurred at 18:45 on a Mercedes-Benz Low Floor bus. The vehicle was manufactured in 2012 and was operating on route No. 143 under Bus Depot No. 4. According to preliminary information, the bus, driven by F.A., caught fire while traveling along Yangi Sergeli Street in the Sergeli district due to a short circuit in the electrical wiring. Despite the driver’s initial efforts to extinguish the fire using a fire extinguisher, the flames intensified. Fire and rescue units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire within a short time. No injuries were reported, but the bus sustained technical damage.
Later that day, at 21:55, another fire occurred on a Mercedes-Benz bus operating on route No. 169 under Bus Depot No. 8. The bus, also manufactured in 2012, caught fire while en route near the “Qashqarlik” stop in the Qibray district.
