Authorities in Tashkent city and region conducted midnight raids on greenhouses, the Uzbek National News Agency (UzA) reported.
It was noted that in recent days, air pollution in Tashkent has sharply increased, causing serious concern among residents.
To address the situation, and following instructions from the Head of the Presidential Administration, environmental specialists and law enforcement agencies launched large-scale inspections across Tashkent city and region.
During the raids, air quality is being monitored, the main factors contributing to pollution are being identified, and measures to mitigate them are being implemented.
Greenhouses violating environmental standards, various types of furnaces, and other enterprises emitting harmful substances into the air are being inspected by the Working Group.
A wide-ranging environmental campaign has begun to improve atmospheric air quality.
For reference, a special commission was previously established in Tashkent to oversee measures aimed at improving the city’s ecological situation.
