Nearly 6 kilograms of drugs seized in Tashkent and Samarkand (video)

Large quantities of narcotic substances were seized during operations conducted in Tashkent and Samarkand regions. The State Security Service reported this.

According to the report, a person born in 1992, who had been wanted since 2025 on suspicion of committing crimes under Articles 246 and 273 of the Criminal Code, was detained in Bekobod city. Article 246 covers smuggling, while Article 273 covers the illegal preparation, acquisition, storage and other actions involving narcotic drugs, their analogues or psychotropic substances with the intent to sell, as well as their illegal sale.

During an inspection of his rented apartment, 151 grams of opium were found inside a refrigerator, while 4 kilograms and 971 grams of hashish were discovered in a toilet shaft. According to the investigation, the drugs had been smuggled in from a neighboring country.

In another operation conducted in Urgut district by the Samarkand Regional Department of the State Security Service, Border Troops and internal affairs bodies, two citizens born in 2003 were detained with physical evidence while selling 932 grams of hashish and 2.5 grams of opium to a conditional buyer for $10,000.

Criminal cases have been opened in connection with these incidents, and the suspects have been placed in custody as a preventive measure. Investigative actions are ongoing.

Earlier, a driver transporting more than 1 kilogram of hashish was detained in Pop district, Namangan region.
