Flood warning: Uzhydromet issues urgent alert

Due to expected rainfall on February 25–26, mudflows and flash floods may occur in foothill and mountainous areas of the country, Uzhydromet reported.
According to the agency, the risk of mudflows and flooding is forecast in the following areas:
- In Kashkadarya region — Yakkabag, Dehkanabad, Chiroqchi, Kitab, Shakhrisabz, Kamashi, and Guzar districts;
- In Surkhandarya region — Sariosiyo, Uzun, Altinsay, Denov, Boysun, Sherabad, Shurchi, Kumkurgan, and Muzrabot districts;
- In Samarkand region — Urgut, Samarkand, Bulungur, Nurabad, Kushrabot, Kattakurgan, Payarik, Jomboy, and Ishtikhan districts;
- In Navoi region — Khatirchi, Navbahor, Nurota, Konimex, and Karmana districts;
- In Jizzakh region — Zomin, Bakhmal, Gallaorol, Sharof Rashidov, Forish, and Yangiabad districts;
- In Tashkent region — Ohangaron, Bostanlyk, Parkent, Piskent, Urtachirchik, and Yukorichirchik districts, as well as the cities of Angren and Almalyk;
- In Namangan region — Pop, Kosonsoy, Chortoq, Chust, Namangan, and Yangiqorgon districts;
- In Fergana region — Sokh, Shohimardon, Fergana, and Beshariq districts;
- In Andijan region — Andijan, Asaka, Jalakuduk, Kurgantepa, Pakhtaabad, Izboskan, Khojaabad, and Marhamat districts, as well as the city of Khanabad.
Residents of foothill and mountainous areas, vacationers, and drivers traveling through mountainous regions are urged to take precautionary measures.
In some parts of the country, rainwater accumulation is also possible, which may lead to localized flooding.
