The sides discussed expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom, primarily in the trade and economic sphere.

It was noted that political dialogue is developing rapidly and exchanges at all levels are continuing actively. Effective cooperation has also been established in the field of security.

Over the past five years, trade turnover has doubled. Uzbek sovereign and corporate bonds worth more than 15 billion US dollars have been placed on the London Stock Exchange. Last year, the Joint Economic Committee mechanism was launched.

Presidential Schools have been established together with British partners, and three joint universities are operating successfully. The number of British tourists visiting Uzbekistan is also increasing.

During the meeting, the importance of advancing new projects in energy, finance, geology, transport, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, science and education was emphasised.

The parties also exchanged views on pressing regional and global issues.
