Uzbekistan's first ambassador to Serbia appointed

Oybek Shahavdinov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan with residence in Budapest, has officially presented copies of his credentials to Branko Radovanović, Head of the Diplomatic Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. The news was reported by the Dunyo news agency.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed current issues on the bilateral agenda and expressed mutual interest in further strengthening Uzbek-Serbian relations. The Serbian side welcomed the appointment of Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Serbia, stating that this step would give new momentum to the overall direction of bilateral cooperation.

It is worth noting that on December 13, 2024, Ambassador Oybek Shahavdinov also presented his credentials to the President of Slovenia, Nataša Pirc Musar.

In addition to his role in Serbia, Shahavdinov is Uzbekistan’s first ambassador to Hungary, and he also serves as a non-resident ambassador to Croatia and Montenegro.
