In the Samarkand region, a bride who had been married for just five days successfully retrieved her dowry from her husband's home through the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau. This was reported by Farrukh Toshpulatov, the press secretary of the Bureau, to QALAMPIR.UZ.
According to the report, based on the writ of execution from the Pastdargam District Court for Civil Affairs, dated September 26, 2024, the Pastdargam District Department of the Bureau received a document for the transfer of 20 types of property from the debtor, M.X., to the collector, B.B. The enforcement proceedings were promptly initiated, and copies of the decision were sent to the involved parties.
The report further explains, "The debtor, M.X., as specified in the decree, transferred a total of 20 items of property to the collector, B.B. The bride's dowry was seized by the state bailiff from the groom's home, where she had lived for five days, in the presence of witnesses and in accordance with the proper procedures."
It is worth noting that a similar case occurred last year in the Fergana region, where a one-week-old bride's dowry was also returned through the Compulsory Enforcement Bureau.
