To make full use of the capabilities of the Samarkand International Airport and to develop a competitive environment in the air transport market, from 1 October 2022, the «Open Sky» regime will be introduced at the Samarkand International Airport. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport.
The «Open Sky» regime means the lifting of restrictions on flights and routes for foreign airlines by the norms of international law, taking into account the technical capabilities of Samarkand International Airport.
Foreign airlines can now fly to Samarkand International Airport regardless of the existence or absence of an intergovernmental agreement on air services.
Since 1 October this year, foreign aviation administrations have been informed about the introduction of a new order at Samarkand International Airport.
