On October 9, Saida Mirziyoyeva, the head of the Presidential administration of Uzbekistan and the eldest daughter of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, held a meeting with Kaja Kallas, the High Representative of the European Union for foreign affairs and security policy and Vice President of the European Commission. She announced this on her social media pages.
According to the statement, the discussion focused on both global and regional issues, with special attention given to Central Asia. Despite the complex geopolitical environment, it was noted that cooperation between the regions continues to develop.
’’I express my gratitude to Mrs. Kallas for the open and meaningful conversation. I look forward to the next steps that will strengthen the mutually beneficial partnership between Uzbekistan and the European Union,’’ Mirziyoyeva wrote.
It should be mentioned that Kaja Kallas visited Uzbekistan in March of this year, where she held meetings with the country’s leadership. In April, the first Central Asia–European Union summit was held in Samarkand.
It is worth noting that Saida Mirziyoyeva also met in Brussels with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen on the same day, October 9.
