On June 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Kumushkan mahalla in the Parkent district of the Tashkent region to review its tourism development and the growth of guest houses. The visit was reported by the press service of the President.

It was noted that the tourism sector in this area is receiving extensive support through privileges and government-backed initiatives. Infrastructure development in tourist villages is actively underway, enabling many residents to open guest houses within their homes.

In recent years, the number of tourists visiting Kumushkan has risen significantly. Currently, more than 80 homes in the area have been converted into guest accommodations, collectively serving 172,000 tourists annually.

Among these local entrepreneurs is Olim Yusubov, who opened a 48-bed guest house in his yard along the stream. The guest rooms are decorated in a traditional Uzbek style and serve more than 2,000 visitors each year.

Impressed by the success and vibrancy of the initiative, President Mirziyoyev emphasized the importance of replicating similar tourism projects in other scenic locations across the country. He instructed officials to allocate necessary financial resources to support entrepreneurs and assist in expanding service offerings. The development of such internal opportunities within neighborhoods, he noted, is a key factor in increasing employment among the local population.

Visitors are drawn to the area not only for its natural beauty but also for cultural and spiritual sites such as the Masjidali pilgrimage destination.

Currently, there are around 1,000 guest houses in the Tashkent region, providing employment for approximately 2,500 people.
