LikeCup project suspended after public brawl

A public brawl that broke out during a football tournament between bloggers and artists in Tashkent has led to the suspension of the LikeCup project. The Tashkent City Main Department of Internal Affairs has issued a statement regarding the incident.

According to the report, on May 29 at around 9:00 p.m., a friendly football match between teams of artists and bloggers was held at the Jar Stadium in the Shaykhontohur district as part of the LikeCup project. Following the match, a participant identified as O.O., born in 2004, deliberately instigated a fight between the two teams in an attempt to gain social media followers and draw public attention to the event for publicity purposes.

The Shaykhontohur District Department of Internal Affairs carried out an investigation and conducted preventive interviews with participants of the tournament. Due to the public outrage caused by the incident and the fact that it resulted in a criminal offense, authorities have decided to temporarily suspend the LikeCup project.

All organizers, instigators, and individuals involved in the incident have been identified. Administrative reports were filed against them in accordance with the relevant articles of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The case materials have been submitted to the Shaykhontohur District Criminal Court for further legal action.
