Mirziyoyev congratulates Putin on his 73rd birthday

On October 7, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev called Russian President Vladimir Putin to congratulate him on his 73rd birthday, the press service of the Uzbek president reported.
Mirziyoyev sincerely congratulated Putin on his birthday, wishing him good health, happiness, success, and continued prosperity for the Russian people.
During the conversation, the two leaders discussed the implementation of high-level agreements and addressed urgent issues concerning the further development and strengthening of the Uzbek-Russian comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations.
Particular attention was given to sustaining the growth of mutual trade turnover, advancing cooperation projects involving leading enterprises and companies in industry, energy, agriculture, and other key sectors, and expanding business ties between the regions of the two countries.
The parties noted with satisfaction the ongoing active cultural and humanitarian exchanges between Uzbekistan and Russia.
They also exchanged views on pressing international and regional issues and discussed plans for future cooperation.
For reference, Vladimir Putin was born on October 7, 1952, in St. Petersburg. By decision of then-President Boris Yeltsin, he became acting president on December 31, 1999, and officially assumed the presidency on May 7, 2000. In 2004, he was elected to a second term. On May 7, 2008, he stepped down and was succeeded by Dmitry Medvedev.
Putin was elected to a third term in the 2012 presidential election with 64 percent of the vote and took office again on May 7, 2012.
It is worth noting that on October 5 this year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also held a phone conversation with Tajik President Emomali Rahmon and congratulated him on his 73rd birthday.
