Tulip field trampled; offenders fined 62 million soums (video)

Videos circulating on social media show several vehicles driving over a tulip field in the Kukdala district of the Kashkadarya region. The National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change has issued a statement regarding the incident.

According to the committee, the case was investigated by officials from the Kashkadarya regional Department of Ecology and Climate Change, together with law enforcement officers. The individuals responsible were identified, and their vehicles were impounded in accordance with established procedures.

Authorities also determined that the violation caused environmental damage amounting to 6.592 million soums. Each of the three offenders was fined 50 times the base calculation amount (20.6 million soums each), bringing the total fine to 61.8 million soums. The offenders are required to pay both the fines and the assessed damages.

“The Ecology Committee urges citizens to treat the environment with care and to protect it. Remember, any environmental violation will result in strict liability,” the statement said.
