In 2022, during the archaeological research of the Qanqa complex expedition of the National Archaeological Center of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan, new information about the medieval history of the oasis was obtained.  This was reported by the Press Service of the Academy.

It is noted that during the expedition, a large hall with a length of 12 meters and a width of 6.30 meters, dated to the XI-XII centuries, was opened.  The floor of the entrance of the hall was made of bricks, and the side walls were 1.30m thick, which indicated that it was a magnificent building.

Also, in the side walls of the southwestern corner of the hall, a special place covered with baked bricks was made, and the fact that it was burnt due to a strong fire indicates that there was also a wooden porch there.  In this place, the large wooden remains that fell from the roof as a result of the fire were taken and the preserved ones were carefully studied.  As a result, it was found that the surfaces of the parts were decorated with carvings.

In addition, during the excavations, the remains of another large structure belonging to the early Middle Ages were discovered under many layers.  This structure is located on the eastern side of the temple of the Early Middle Ages of the Qanqa monument.  Therefore, it can be concluded that the remains of this large building are directly related to the temple.
