Rules of conduct for public servants approved

On 14 October this year, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted a resolution «On additional measures to ensure compliance with the rules of etiquette by civil servants».

By this decision:

•    Model Rules for the Etiquette of Public Civil Servants;

•    The model charter of the ethics commission has been approved.

Model rules of etiquette for civil servants:

•    General rules of etiquette regarding professional culture;

•    Rules of ethics of service activity;

•    Etiquette outside the service;

•    Rules of Etiquette in Relations with the Public, Media Representatives;

•    Rules of Etiquette about the appearance and style of clothing in official business;

•    Measures to prevent conflicts of interest;

•    Protection of the interests of public servants;

•    Regulates the control of compliance with ethical rules.

Liability for non-compliance with rules of etiquette has also been established.

State bodies, the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, the governorship of the city of Tashkent, and other organizations shall adopt rules of conduct, taking into account the characteristics of their activities, by 25 October this year.
