The Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will undergo reorganization. This change is outlined in the Presidential Decree titled “On Measures to Further Improve the System of Targeted Training of Promising Personnel and Their Effective Involvement in Public Administration and Service,” signed on May 5.
According to the decree, the institution will be renamed the Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
One of the academy’s key functions will be the systematic retraining and professional development of civil servants, along with the preparation of managerial personnel at the master’s and postgraduate levels.
The decree also provides for the creation of a Board of Trustees for the Academy of Public Policy and Administration under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Starting from July 1, 2025, state bodies and organizations will be required to organize advanced training and retraining of civil servants based on the professional development needs of their employees. In addition to traditional methods, alternative and independent forms of advanced training will also be introduced.
It is worth noting that earlier reports indicated plans to reorganize the Academy of Public Administration into the Academy of Public Policy and Administration. Subsequently, Jasur Shavkatovich was appointed rector of the new institution.
