A fire that broke out on a main gas pipeline in the Bukhara region has been completely extinguished, the Ministry of Energy reported today, February 10. The fire was caused by an explosion on a pipeline with a diameter of 1020 mm, which runs through the region.
According to the ministry, specialized personnel have been deployed to conduct repair and restoration work in the affected area. Employees of Uztransgaz JSC are currently carrying out these operations to ensure the pipeline’s full functionality.
The ministry also confirmed that the gas supply to consumers has been resumed. Natural gas is now being transported through a reserve pipeline, preventing any interruptions in supply.
"Gas transportation continues in the normal mode, ensuring an uninterrupted supply to consumers," the ministry's report stated.
Earlier today, following a gas leak incident, the Ministry of Energy had announced temporary restrictions on gas filling stations across various regions of Uzbekistan. The measure was taken to prioritize the continuous supply of natural gas to residential areas and social facilities.
