Income tax for teachers working at learning centers in remote areas will be reduced to 7.5 percent. The announcement was made on February 24 during a meeting between President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and young people at the Kuksaroy residence.
It was noted that under the “Komak” program, the introduction of interest-free loans of up to 130 million soums has enabled more than 120 foreign language learning centers to begin operations in remote and underserved areas within six months.
Young entrepreneurs who have established such centers and gained experience have also proposed opening IT and modern vocational training centers, libraries, and sports clubs around these facilities.
Within the framework of the “Komak” project, young people who have launched successful businesses will be eligible for additional interest-free loans of up to 300 million soums to expand their activities.
Learning centers in remote areas will now pay a social tax of 1 percent, while income tax for their teachers will be set at 7.5 percent. Currently, both social and income taxes are paid at a rate of 12 percent.
The Youth Affairs Agency has been instructed to launch a program in cooperation with private learning centers to train 20,000 young people annually in future-oriented professions. In addition, up to 500 million soums in loans will be allocated to each district to establish vocational laboratories at technical colleges and learning centers.
Earlier during the meeting, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed support for the establishment of an Association of Learning Centers in Uzbekistan.
