Dietary supplements worth 226.343 million soums that had been illegally brought in from a neighboring country were uncovered in Andijan region, the State Security Service said.

According to the report, officers of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the Interior Ministry and customs authorities, carried out a special operation in Namangan city, during which they inspected a Damas vehicle driven by a local resident born in 1977.

As a result, five types of foreign-made dietary supplements were found inside the vehicle, but the products had no proper documentation. During the preliminary investigation, based on statements given by the man and his wife, it was established that the products had been smuggled into the country through bypass routes from a neighboring state and were supposed to be handed over to their owner, a Kyrgyz national, in Andijan region.

The operation was then continued, and the actual owner of the supplements was detained while receiving the goods in Oltinko‘l district of Andijan region. She was identified as a woman born in 1976 and residing in Manas city, Jalal-Abad region, Kyrgyzstan. Another woman, born in 1982 and living in Kurgantepa district, who had arrived with her, was also detained.

It was established that the seized products consisted of 2,957 bottles of capsule-form dietary supplements branded “Samyun Van,” “Cherniy tmin,” “Senna Mekkanskaya,” “Mumiye Altayskoye,” and “Kist al-Xindi.” Their total value was estimated at 226.343 million soums.

A criminal case has been opened against those involved, and investigative actions are currently underway.

Earlier, authorities in Qushkupir district of Khorezm region detained an individual who had hidden nearly 1.5 kilograms of heroin inside welding equipment.
