Flooding of streets and yards reported in Andijan (video)

Today, October 11, flooding occurred in the yards of residential houses in the Andijan region, according to the regional Department of Emergency Situations.

At 07:58, due to a rise in the water level of the SRK-1 local canal passing through the territory of the “Kumkocha” mahalla in Andijan district, water partially overflowed the banks and entered the yards of several houses. The Irrigation Networks Department has since halted water discharge into the canal.

Currently, restoration work is underway to reinforce the dam and canal banks using engineering equipment. No injuries have been reported as a result of the incident.

“The Emergency Situations Department, local authorities, rescue units, and irrigation system teams with necessary equipment have arrived at the scene,” the report said.

Earlier, in the Buloqbashi district of Andijan region, streets were flooded after part of the bank of the South Fergana Canal in the “Sarvontepa” mahalla was damaged.
