Measures against illegal parking have been tightened in Tashkent, with vehicles left in prohibited areas to be towed to impound lots. This was reported by the Traffic Management Center.

According to the center, vehicles are often left in various parts of the city on sidewalks, near pedestrian crossings, at public transport stops, in green areas and in places where stopping or parking is prohibited. The center said such cases directly affect the daily convenience of residents. They obstruct the free movement of pedestrians, create difficulties for elderly people, parents with strollers, people with disabilities and children, and also complicate the movement of public transport and special-purpose vehicles.

In this regard, strengthening control over compliance with stopping and parking rules in Tashkent is becoming a systematic practice. Vehicles parked in violation of the rules will be evacuated in accordance with the established procedure and placed in specialized impound lots.

The Traffic Management Center said the goal is not punishment, but ensuring order and discipline.

“This work will continue and be further strengthened. The purpose of these measures is not merely to impose fines, but to ensure order, safety and normal conditions for all city residents and road users,” the center said.

The center urged drivers to strictly comply with traffic rules when choosing places to stop or park. In particular, it warned drivers against leaving vehicles on sidewalks, at bus stops, near pedestrian crossings, in green areas and in other places where they may obstruct the movement of people, public transport or special-purpose vehicles, or pose a safety threat.
